Well my BORA fellowship was amazing and I had an amazing coach. I managed to set my career goals, update my CV and create an appealing LinkedIn profile. I also learned how to draft an application letter. Another key thing I got was to always cultivate a positive mindset.
During the cause of the Fellowship I was able to gain insight on how to navigate my career path. I also found out where my strength lies as an individual. So far it has been a wonderful self-development journey.
At BORA one gets to discover their career options with the help of excellent coaches. I not only gained theoretical training but also practical skills development volunteering as a human resource personnel during the fellowship where I got to observe and learn how an organization setting works therefore learning how to coordinate and work with different people and departments.
Helen is a Brilliant Coach. She guided me through Career Mapping, where I eventually created my career short and long-term goals. I now own my career growth not blaming my circumstances or past failures.
Being a Bora fellow, helped me to learn more about myself, my strengths, weaknesses and how to improve on them. It also helped me realise I can think outside the box and I can do anything that I put my mind into.
BORA International is a platform where youth come together to share, learn and connect. Through program I was supported to build confidence for public speaking and leadership. I had an opportunity to create Day of a Girl Child event and lead a team to implement it. Thanks to my mentor Belinda for guiding me.
